Electronic Medical Records in Saskatchewan

“Thanks to electronic medical records being established in doctors’ offices throughout the province, Saskatchewan residents will benefit from faster, safer, better and more secure health care, says the Saskatchewan Party government. Health Minister Don McMorris and Saskatchewan Medical Association (SMA) President Dr. Joe Pfeifer signed an agreement under which the provincial government and SMA each commit $2 million annually to assist the computerizing of patients’ medical records. When fully implemented in 2014-15, the government’s cost will be $7.26 million per year with a total program cost of $10.37 million.”
