“The cost to practice medicine continues to rise, even as the cash flowing into local physicians’ practices is on the decline. But many practice administrators say their biggest concern is a cost that, for many, is still yet to come.
Under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act signed in February, all doctors offices need to have electronic medical records in place by 2011 or risk having their vital Medicare payments decreased; payments would be stopped completely in 2014 for practices without computerized records in place.”
