Stamford Hospital Brings EHRs to Practices

“Stamford (Conn.) Hospital has purchased 100 licenses for Web-based practice management and electronic health records software from eClinicalWorks, Westborough, Mass.
The hospital expects that roughly 20% of the licenses will be used by its employed physicians while 80% will be used by independent, affiliated physicians, a hospital spokesman said. The hospital will subsidize an undisclosed portion of the cost for independent doctors by taking advantage of the Stark Act exemption and safe harbors to the federal anti-kickback statutes.”
