“Maryland awarded a $10 million contract to the Chesapeake Regional Information System for Our Patients (CRISP) to build a statewide health information exchange. CRISP is a not-for-profit collaboration among Johns Hopkins Medicine, MedStar Health, the University of Maryland Medical Systems, and Erickson Retirement Communities.
The designation of CRISP as Maryland’s health information exchange will position the state to receive additional funding under the federal stimulus law to establish these exchanges, according to a statement from Gov. Martin O’Malley’s office.”
