Today, 8 September 2009, is the 5th anniversary of the foundation of ICMCC.
In those 5 years we have organised outstanding conferences with high level publications. We have put compunetics on the scientific map and when patient aspects of medical and care technology are involved we are being recognised by many as an important partner. And we developed this website into a very important source of information on the internet.
For all this we are extremely grateful.
It have also been 5 hard years. The death of 3 board members and my long-lastig illness have left their marks.
On behalf of the ICMCC board I wish to thank all those who supported us and will continue to do so.
I hope that the publication of our Handbook on Digital Homecare, will mark the start of another 5 years where we will be able even more to show how the use of computing and networking
- can help the patient to assume his own responsibility in his care and cure;
- can help the professional to accept and embrace this paradigm shift.
- can help making ICMCC into one of the leading, independent places for sharing information on the use of health and care technology and its social, societal and ethical implications.
