More pointers on how to transition from paper to electronic records

“Two partners from the consultancy group, EHR Empowerment Consortium, wrote about how physicians can make that transition from paper to computerized patient records. It’s a good primer. I’d like to add more to their list.
The most important point they make, in my opinion, is the due diligence part. Whereas the authors focus on the company’s viability, contractual issues and support, I’d like to point out that physicians and healthcare systems need to go outside of the vendor and ask other physician groups and healthcare systems about their experiences with certain products and vendors.”
