Telemedicine partnership lets local Shriners patients skip the road trip

“Xiaoli Magary no longer has to endure hours on the road for a 10-minute checkup. The 12-year-old can see a doctor from Cincinnati’s Shriners Hospital for Children without ever leaving Evansville.
With the time she saves from making once-frequent trips to Cincinnati, she can now devote herself to playing violin in the Evansville Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
Xiaoli is among the Tri-State children benefiting from a telemedicine partnership between the Shriners and the University of Southern Indiana. The Shriners purchased telemedicine technology that resides at USI, enabling Shriners patients to receive follow-up care from their physicians without the inconvenience of travel.”
