NHS steps closer to commercial online health records

“Microsoft has taken a significant step towards launching its HealthVault personal electronic health record system in the UK. The company has announced the first NHS customer for its Amalga data aggregation platform, a key component of HealthVault in the US.
Under the deal, announced last week, Milton Keynes Hospital NHS trust will use Microsoft’s Amalga Unified Intelligence System to unlock data stored in a dozen IT systems. These include a Cerner electronic patient record system supplied through the NHS national programme for IT.”
