Creation of IT standards didn’t begin yesterday: Halamka

“Harvard Medical School Chief Information Officer John Halamka led a wide-ranging discussion outlining past government health information technology initiatives and describing the current federal landscape at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society annual conference in Atlanta. He concluded his talk by noting that money earmarked for health IT investment in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act won’t be cut loose until 2012.”
