Internet can help you lose weight says study

“A new study has shown that the internet can be a valuable slimming aid. The findings, which stem from one of the longest weight loss trials in U.S history, showed that people who used a weight management website achieved the most success in keeping off the pounds.
More than 1,600 people took part in the trial, which was funded by the National Institutes of Health. They had to lose weight in the first six months by attending weekly group meetings at which they were weighed and encouraged to keep food diaries. Those who lost at least nine pounds remained in the weight loss maintenance phase, where they were divided into three groups.”
