Telemedicine builds strong following in BRIC countries

“The telemedicine market in Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRICs) is expected to grow to almost half a billion dollars in the coming years, according to a new report. The surge is being driven by a widespread increase in IT spending as well as a rise in patients with chronic diseases.
The study by MarketsandMarkets (M&M) predicts that this sector will be worth $418.4 million by 2014, at a compound annual growth rate of 15.8 per cent between 2009 and 2014. It says the figure will stem from expansion in both the telemedicine technology and services markets.”
