Survey: 86% of MDs want mobile EMR access

“According to the PricewaterhouseCoopers’ online survey results released last week, the 1,000 physicians polled are very interested in using mobile devices for a number of clinical tasks. PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Health Research Institute, “Healthcare Unwired” report found that 83 percent of the physicians surveyed are interested in prescribing medication via their mobile devices. Some 60 percent said they were interested in using mobile technology to communicate with their patients. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the most popular task physicians would like to leverage their mobile devices for was accessing EMR information: Some 86 percent are interested.”
