UK: Common clinical language implemented across England to help improve patient care and safety

“Better patient safety through electronic communication between clinicians has been secured by the adoption of a common clinical language across all healthcare settings and organisations in England.
Nurses, doctors and physiotherapists now use the Systematised Nomenclature of Medicine – Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT), a comprehensive, multilingual clinical healthcare terminology which enables information to be exchanged accurately and safely across England.”
