Electronic health records must be secure

“The federal government has released details of the personally controlled electronic health record system it will roll out in July 2012, at a cost of $460 million to the taxpayer (”Sceptics change tune on electronic records”, September 1). Australians who “opt in” to the proposed system will have one consolidated health record, which healthcare providers can view online, and add to, if consent is provided.”
