Studies of HIT impacts report mixed results

“A study recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association (JAMIA) found mixed results when researchers looked at the impact of EHRs on health outcomes at three Minneapolis area emergency departments(EDs).
For the study, researchers looked back at the cases of 5,166 adults who had been treated for heart failure at the three EDs. Outcomes reviewed including mortality, length of stay, and numbers of tests, procedures, and medications ordered in the EDs.”
