“Much of the conversation about the relationship of analytics and healthcare focuses on the potential of big data to change the healthcare industry in the years to come. However, in reality analytics can play a role for providers and hospitals right now as a tool for assessing their adoption of an EHR system, their performance as part of an accountable care organization (ACO) or patient centered medical home (PCMH), or their readiness to connect to a health information exchange (HIE).
