ATA’s Saunders: Physicians need to adopt – and adapt to – telemedicine

“The move toward patient-centered healthcare is forcing the physician to adopt a new role – that of the facilitator. And he or she will need to use all the tools and tricks of telemedicine to stake a place in the healthcare landscape.

Titled “Telemedicine After Two Decades: Where Are We Going and When Are We Getting There?”, the hour-long session focused on a discussion between ATA CEO Jonathan Linkous and Jay Saunders, MD, FACP, FACAAI, president emeritus of the ATA and generally considered one of the founders of the telemedicine movement in the United States.”
