GHITA-ICMCC Event
We regret to inform you that the GHITA-ICMCC 2011 Event had to be postponed to 2012.
It seems we have been too early with the introduction of the concept of awareness of the use of ICT in medicine and care.

The ICMCC website is becoming increasingly important as one of the leading information sites on health information technology. The site received over 134,000 unique visitors in 2010 alone. The first 2 months of 2011 show a growth of almost 100% compared to the same months in 2010. For details.
The site now has over 12,300 news and 2,000 science articles, as well as over 200 reports and 250 videos.

Health and Technology
Springer Verlag has initiated a new journal, Health and Technology, in cooperation with the IUPESM and WHO. ICMCC President Lodewijk Bos and prof. eHealth Estonia

Future Visions on Biomedicine and Bioinformatics
By the end of the year ICMCC will publish the first book in the new series Communications in Medical and Care Compunetics. The book, titled “Future Visions on Biomedicine and Bioinformatics” will be a tribute to ICMCC co-founder Prof. Swamy Laxminarayan.

Early April we will publish the call for chapters for our second book on “Digital Homecare, Successes and Failures“.

The numbers continue to increase with over 25,000 unique visitors since 1 January 2010 and a peak of 1546 unique visitors on 3 February.
We have opened a new section: Science Pages, offering one of the most complete bibliographical services on the internet. (more)
To cover the rising costs for website maintenance, parts of the site will become payable as of 1 April 2010, at a very reasonable price ($25 per year).

ICMCC is organising a compunetics track at the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering 2009.
This triennial scientific meeting of the IUPESM- being held in Munich, Germany, on September 7 – 12, 2009 is the world’s leading forum for presenting the results of current scientific work as well as major innovations in health-related technologies to an international audience. We expect more than 4,000 visitors to attend the event.
